Salina is a handcrafted hot process salt and tallow bar soap made with Diamond Crystal salt produced in St. Clair, Michigan. Inspired by Michigan’s rich salt-producing history, this distinctive brine soap combines a tallow-based formula with mineral-rich salt and an aromatic blend of essential oils.

Salt creates a wonderfully dense, creamy lather while the naturally humectant character of the bar helps attract and hold moisture, leaving skin feeling clean without that overly stripped sensation.

Salina’s essential oil blend is earthy, spicy, fresh, and slightly herbal, featuring anise, cassia, palmarosa, gingergrass, juniper berry, and cypress. The result is an intriguing botanical scent that feels both grounding and invigorating.

A Michigan-Inspired Salt Soap

The name Salina comes from the Latin word associated with a saltworks or place where salt is produced—a fitting name for a soap celebrating one of Michigan’s remarkable natural resources.

A Note About Humidity

Salina loves moisture—and that's part of what makes this bar special. Because of its high humectant character, it naturally attracts moisture from its surroundings. In very humid conditions, you may notice the bar develop beads of moisture or “sweat.” This is normal and does not affect the quality of the soap.

For best results, allow the bar to dry thoroughly between uses on a well-draining soap dish and store unused bars in a cool, dry location.

Because Salina readily attracts atmospheric moisture, it is not offered at our outdoor markets during warm or humid weather. Look for it online and at select indoor events.
